What should I wear/bring with me?

If you're coming for a pole class, we suggest that you wear a t-shirt or vest top, a sports bra, and shorts. The shorts are very important to allow you to grip onto the pole.

If you're coming for a hoop class, we suggest that you wear a t-shirt or vest top, a sports bra, and leggings. On occasion, your instructor might let you know if you need to wear anything else.

​

Regardless of your class, always remember to bring some water and make sure to remove any jewellery for your safety and the integrity of our poles.

Equipment

Do I have to buy anything for the sessions?

Not at all! All we ask is for you to bring yourself to the class! You are more than welcome to buy your own hand grips and accessories but they aren't needed by any means.

Fees

Taster Sessions

The society will run Taster Sessions at the beginning of the year at GemsTone Fitness where you can get an idea of what this sport is about!

 

These sessions will be £2.50 each, or you can buy a Day Pass to attend one of each type of Taster Session for £7.50.

Classes

We have two different fees:

 

£12.00 per session, for NON-MEMBERS

£7.00 per session, for MEMBERS

Society Membership is £16 for a term or £40 for the whole year.

Sessions

Do I need any experience to start Pole & Aerial Fitness?

Not at all! Most of our members are complete beginners, and you don't need any previous experience to sign up! You also don't have to be "physically fit" either, you'll naturally become stronger and more flexible with time.

What is a session like?

Our classes consist of a 10-15 minutes warm up, some conditioning, spins, climbs, seats and preparing for going upside down.

A mini routine will be included and it will end with a cool down.

When and where are the classes?

All of our classes are held at GemsTone Fitness, their address can be found here.

Classes are held throughout the week, so be sure to check GemsTone's schedule to book onto your desired class!

Do I have to attend all sessions?

Not at all, you're not obliged to attend every session! As a beginner, we recommend going for one class per week, however, the more you advance, the more practice you'll need in order to progress.

Can I have private sessions?

Private Sessions are available for all members. Timetable and venue depend on availability.
